Custom Dress from eShakti

{Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post brought to you by eShakti. I received product in exchange for a review. Opinions are 100% my own.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a eShakti, a company that offers customized women's clothing, to try out an item of my choosing. Initially, I was hesitant because I’m pregnant, but after reviewing their dresses I said yes. The concept is unlike stores I typically shop at. Instead of keeping products stocked in a warehouse somewhere, each piece is cut to order. It was hard to narrow it down to one dress since eShakti offers a number of cute styles. To top it off they are reasonably priced.

The best part is you can add in your specific measurements and have you items ordered and tailored to your specific sizing. What am I talking about? When placing your order you’re given two options either order a standard size and provide your height or provide custom measurements making your item 100% custom-made to fit your body. Their process is extremely easy. To make it even more custom you’re also given the option to change the length, neckline and/or sleeve style. I opted for a standard size 4 and provided my height. Perfect for a shorty like me – no need to have it hemmed.

Before browsing the site I knew I needed something that would grow with me now, but also work in the spring.  I was able to sort by material and go from there. I also knew I wanted a solid color.

After narrowing it down to a few options I chose a knit poplin dress (similar) and decided to customize the length (above the knee) and remove the front pockets. They weren't hidden pockets and looked a bit awkward.

The dressed arrived quickly, about a week after I placed my order. I was extremely impressed with the cut, color and material. The dress fits great and has enough wiggle room allowing me to wear it this fall with my baby bump -- I'm thinking riding boots and a cardigan.

The verdict -- Would I order from eShakti again? Yes. For the right price, dress and occasion I would definitely order another dress. I'm currently loving this, this and this.

Happy shopping!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Perfection

Over last few weeks the hubby has asked me to make cookies a few times, ok maybe it was the baby. Either way, I finally caved. Saturday I tried out a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. They turned out amazing. Let's just say one batch made 3 dozen bite sized cookies (my favorite sized dessert) and as of this morning they are gone! Guess I'll just have to make another batch this weekend ;)

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
{via apple a day}

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add egg and vanilla and blend.

Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.

Using a tablespoon/ cookie scoop, drop dough onto a baking sheet.  Bake for 10 minutes, until the edges are barely golden brown.  (Note: The tops will not brown. Do not cook longer than ten minutes. Trust me.)

Let cool and enjoy!  Makes about 3 dozen.
