Emerson Quinn // Newborn Photos

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. It was gorgeous in Lake Tahoe. Last week on instagram, I posted a teaser from our newborn photos we took last month and couldn't wait to share. Although, we haven't sent out our birth announcements I thought I would go ahead and share a few of our newborn photos with you.

Our photographer, Melina Wallisch, did an amazing job capturing our family of three (minus Roxy). Originally, I thought I would have Roxy in the photos, but it would have been way too hard. Next time. It's funny how life comes full circle. Melina was the creative brilliance behind our engagement and wedding photos too! I love that she shoots digital and film. Anyway, I picked just a few photos to share and trust me it was hard narrowing it down.

Happy St. Patrick's Day // 50 Shades of Green

Happy St. Patrick's day! Did you remember to wear green today?

Honestly, I forgot all about it until I was in spin this morning. Luckily I managed to have on green. With baby on board there's no green beer in my near future and I'm not a fan of corn beef and cabbage. Instead I'm celebrating St. Patty's day with 50 shades of green!

This round-up could also be a wish list... how cute is that shift dress?! It's been sitting in my cart for the last week. I might just have to pull the trigger today and treat myself.

I recently stumbled across Woven Pear and am in love with their socks! Although, I haven't taken them for a test drive just yet they are just too fun. I think I need a pair of the Flirty Flamingo socks!

One of these days I'll splurge and buy a pair of Tieks. Although I would probably start with black or brown, but the green is fun.

After clearing out some clothes over the weekend I'm looking to replace a few items. Workout clothes is at the top of the list and by now I'm sure you know I'm a huge fan of The North Face!

Happy Shopping and have a safe St. Patricks day!

Baby Gear // Lulujo Baby

{Disclaimer: This post was brought to you as a partnership with Lulujo Baby. Emerson received a few products to test. As always opinions are 100% my own. Emerson tested and mom approved.}

We're big fans of swaddling in our house. Although we prefer an easy velcro swaddle at night we love our muslin swaddle blankets during the day. We use them to swaddle the baby girl, as a mat during tummy time or light blanket while she sleeps (shh don't tell the baby police). Oh, I've even used them as a nursing covers from time to time!

There are a number of muslin swaddles/blankets out there. Anyone with a baby knows. The hard part is figuring out which one to buy or register for. I'm just throwing it out there now -- you need to add the Lulujo Baby bamboo muslin swaddle to your baby registry today. Better yet just order one.

The bamboo muslin swaddle is seriously so soft and lightweight. Plus, it comes in a variety of super cute prints! We've been using the Lavender Medallion Bamboo Muslin Swaddle for a few weeks now and after multiple washes it keeps getting softer while continuing to look brand new.

Lulujo Baby even offers mini muslin cloths. We received the Owl Always Love You 3 pack.

I wasn't sure about the mini cloths at first, but they are really nice to have. So far we've used them as burp cloths and a light blanket in her car seat.  I can see the mini cloths becoming a diaper bag staple.

Of course I had to compare the size for you :) -- bamboo muslin swaddle vs. mini muslin cloth.

Emerson tested and approved. Our baby burrito is happy as a clam.

Swaddling our girl really helps calm her down. We typically swaddle for naps and in the evening when she's the fussiest. Girlfriend can nap all afternoon with Lulujo Baby without breaking a sweat. We've found that she tends to over heat with a few other brands. Lulujo Baby's 100% bamboo rayon material is not only durable and lightweight it's very breathable. This is key and allows for a happy sleeper! Just what this mama needs.

Lastly, Lulujo Baby won a 2014 Cribsie Award for their Turkish Towels! I definitely plan on ordering one for summer and you should too.

Want to get in on the action? Lulujo Baby is offering readers 25% off all orders through March 22 when you use promo code ICECREAM.

Five Fitness Apps to Start Using Today

Happy Friday party people!

I love Friday's because my husband is off! He works four 10's -- lucky him. Before having a baby and while pregnant I had a pretty intense workout regimen. Then the baby came and all I could do was walk. Not wanting to lose my drive or routine I looked for other avenues to not only motivate myself, but stay on track.

Pact -- Get paid to workout, eat vegetables and log daily meals. You pick your weekly commitment, meet your goals and get paid. Here's the catch if don't meet your goals you have to pay up! I've only been using this ap for a few weeks and have already made $5.

MyFitnessPal -- Log your meals, snacks, water and workouts. I'm home all day which leads to snacking. Logging my daily intake helps me not over indulge.

Run Keeper -- Log your miles, splits  and progress. Since I could only walk the first five weeks postpartum I tracked all my walks via RunKeeper to see how far I was walking. I slowly worked up to four miles. Baby wearing is key because you're going to burn extra calories.

Evolve Fitness -- Workout anywhere anytime. As a ambassador for FitFluential I had a chance to test out the Evolve Fitness app. You pick how many days a week you want to workout, the trainer, intensity level and they create a workout schedule for you. All for only $7.99 a month!

DailyBurn -- Workout anywhere anytime. Plus my favorite Biggest loser coach, Bob Harper, is now a spokesperson and how can you not want to workout with him! Even if it's just through your TV/computer screen.

What fitness apps are you using to stay on track?

P.S.  I'm sharing 5 tips to Maintaining your Fitness throughout Pregnancy, Postpartum and Beyond  on Fit Mama 4 life today. Head over, say hi and show her some love.

Easter Basket Ideas

Easter Basket Ideas

Easter marks the first of many major holidays for Emerson and us as parents. I've had so much fun shopping for goodies for her first basket even though she'll only be two months by then.

So far the headband and booties are on order, but a few books and swim suit will round out her basket nicely.

What is the Easter Bunny bringing your kids? Do you have any family traditions?

Currently Loving // Flamingos

Happy Monday!

These days everything seems to blend together, but girlfriend turned 5 weeks and the weather was gorgeous in Lake Tahoe this weekend! It has me dreaming of summer. I can't wait.

Lately I've been drawn to all things flamingo! Emerson's coming home outfit had flamingos on it, she has a stuffed flamingo and gray and hot pink flamingo print in her nursery. We're not necessarily obsessed, but we do like all things flamingo right now. Plus, they just scream summer.

These are just a few items that caught my eye. There's no doubt Emerson will have a bathing suit with flamingos this summer. I wish I could justify buying the Martha Stewart sheets... for a quick minute I thought about buying them for my guest room. We have the lamb version of the flamingo towel and love it! Don't forget ZOOCCHINI is offering readers 30% off all orders through April 5. Enter icecream at check out.

Are you loving flamingos as much as I am?

My New Mom Style

New Mom

Being a new mom is a big adjustment. There are a few more things to consider when leaving the house. Right now the biggest is what to wear when you're breast feeding and need to leave the house. Typically I gravitate towards casual attire so it's no surprise that's still the case.

Lately this has been my "uniform" tank, cardigan, jeans and oversized tote. I'm loving the boyfriend fit right now as they're loose yet still cute. The J.Crew tank is perfect and a new mom must since it zips on each side! Usually I'm rocking TOMS, but I'm in love with espadrilles and plan to add these bad boys into the mix this spring.

What does you mommy style look like?

Bath Time Fun with ZOOCCHINI

{Disclaimer: This post was brought to you as a partnership with ZOOCCHINI. Emerson received a few products to test. As always opinions are 100% my own. Emerson tested and mom approved.}

It's no secret kids love bath time. They splish and splash around the tub and there are usually toys involved. What about babies? How can you make it fun for a newborn and the parents? This is where ZOOCCHINI comes into play.

A few weeks ago we received a package from ZOOCCHINI including a Lola the Lamb hooded towel and bath mitt. ZOOCCHINI makes a number of items for kids, but it was the animal bath mitt and hooded towel that was killing me with cuteness. Yes, as new parents we entertain ourselves at bath time. Let's just say the Lola the Lamb bath mitt talks to Emerson.

ZOOCCHINI offers products for babies and kids. Honestly I can't wait until Emerson is big enough for the Flamingo or Owl hooded towel! The towels are super soft and great quality. If you don't have a child of your own they were would make a great gift for an expecting friend or a kids birthday or holiday (hint hint: Easter is just a month away).

Our girl loves bath time! She's so content. When Lola the Lamb made its debut she was so excited! Maybe because it talked to her or maybe because she was getting a bath. Either way Lola is now apart of our bath time routine.

When it was time to dry her off I don't think she was too pleased with me. HA! However, she does look pretty cute. The "baby" hooded towels are meant to grow with your newborn and are recommend for up to 18 months!

Not only is the towel fun at bath time, but would be perfect poolside, at the beach or lake!

ZOOCCHINI is offering readers 30% off all orders through April 5. Enter icecream when checking out.
