10 things to Buy at Target Right Now

Spring Summer Target
Patio Set | Planter | Mirror | Sandals | Slip-ons | Lamp | Side table | Rug | Candle | Doormat 1/2/3
Let me count the ways I love Target. I know I'm not alone when I say I'll go into Target for one thing, but I leave with 10. There's just something about cruising around Target looking at everything. I totally have a system, too. However, living in Tahoe I spend more time browsing online than in the store. Since it's free shipping to the store or with a order minimum of $25 I have no problem ordering online.

Well last night I totally went down the Target rabbit hole looking at patio furniture. Which is totally something we need. We current have nothing but beach chairs to sit on in the backyard. So you could say we're in the market.

Anyway, I found so MANY other things that I tried to convince myself I needed. Hello a cactus doormat! That rug would add a nice element to our kitchen. Target sandals are always a must. How cute would that side table be in a guest room?! You see how this happen right? So that's how we ended up here... me sharing a few fun finds. Happy shopping.

Pro Tip: order online for home delivery or in-store pick-up and receive 1% cash back with EBATES. Every penny adds up!

What are you currently loving from Target?

5 Simple ways to Improve Your Health Today

This post was sponsored by Nature Made as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Last night I finally watched the documentary FED UP. It's crazy and sad that obesity is still on the rise especially among children. It got me thinking about simple ways to improve your health today. While I totally believe in finding a balance I also believe it's up to us to be knowledgable and provide our family with truly healthy options. In the documentary parents thought cereal was a healthy option! People -- even what's marketed as healthy cereal is full of sugar. Sugar and processed food is what's killing us. Plus an lack of exercise, but you can't out exercise a bad diet. I challenge you to make a few small changes today that will impact your overall health long term. Are you in?

Need a little motivation? Find a accountability partner, make it a family affair or enter a contest! Lucky you there are some great companies out there ready to help motivate you.

Nature Made® Vitamins is partnering with Women’s and Men’s Health to sponsor promotions on Facebook where you and your friends can win weekly prizes that motivate you to stay healthy. Prizes range from Blue Apron, Lululemon and Sephora gift cards as well as FitBit’s and a one-year membership to Nature Box! Enter through April 9th, 2017.

5 Simple Ways to Improve Your Health

Drink Water
Everyday you should at least drink half your body weight in water. Ditch the sugary drinks they are doing nothing for you. I have a 40 oz. Hydroflask and fill it up at least twice a day.

Tank / Leggings / Lifters

Take a Daily Vitamin
As we get older we need a little help. When I was pregnant I found out I was vitamin D deficient even though I eat a ton of spinach, eggs and salmon! Anyway along with a multi vitamin (specifically for woman) I take vitamin D. I'm currently loving Nature Made adult gummies! Why should kids have all the fun vitamins?! Grab a bottle the next time you're at Target.

Whether it’s taking vitamins or supporting your diet and exercise, Nature Made believes in doing that one extra thing to better your overall wellness. Nature Made actively pursues health and wellness through product innovations, quality ingredients and being #1 Pharmacist Recommended so they can be the best partner to you and your health goals, little by little, every day. Check out their Facebook page for daily motivation and to enter to win some cool healthy prizes.

Move at least 20 Minutes Everyday
Life is too short to stay cooped up. Get outside and stretch those legs. You Don't have to hit the gym everyday. Go for a walk around the block, try golfing, skiing or go for a hike. The point is to get your blood flowing and heart rate up.

Get 7-8 hours of Sleep Daily
Life's just better when you have a good night sleep. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day and exercising will help you sleep better too!

Eat Clean
Personally I follow the 80/20 rule. Following a clean diet will help with weight management and will improve energy levels. No one feels good after a day of hamburgers, pizza and ice cream. I start my mornings with either a green smoothie or avocado toast and 3 eggs!

Bonus Tip : Take a Vacation
There's nothing like reseting your mind and body on a beach somewhere.

What's better than a vacation? Winning a spa vacation! Yup, that's right Nature Made® Vitamins is also hosting a Sweepstakes, through April 9, 2017, where you can enter to win a 4-day/3-night trip for two to the Red Mountain Resort in Ivans, UT. Enter HERE.

In the Open: Thoughts on 17.5

The Open is OVER! Yup, Friday was the last workout of the 2017 CrossFit open. Boy am I glad it's over. While I had some great weeks and not so great weeks I saw a huge improvement from 2016 and I can't wait to get to work. I'm coming for you 2018!

Leggings / Tank / Shoes

10 Rounds for time (40 minute time Cap)
9 Thursters at 65 lbs
35 Double Unders

Everyone knew thrusters and double under were coming. So I wasn't surprised. For me personally I was a tad worried about my double unders because some days are better than others. I knew this one was going to hurt.

My game plan was pretty straight forward break up the thrusters into 3's from the beginning and pray to the jump rope gods. My thrusters felt great and I never struggled. The issue for me was transitioning from thrusters to double unders. I managed to do sets of 10, 15 or 20 at a time, but it still wasn't fast enough. I finished in 23:18. Not bad.

I kind of liked this WOD. Maybe it's because my thursters actually felt better than they have in a long time. While I'm happy with the outcome I wish I could have been faster....

My 5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products

Let's be real, we're not getting any younger. If you haven't already it's time to dial in your beauty regimen. Recently, I've been evaluating the beauty products I use and replacing not so good products with better options. I care about what I eat so why wouldn't I can about the products I'm putting on my body.

Yeah, you're probably thinking the all natural products don't work, but guess what they do! You just have to find the right products for you. I'm barely scratching the surface today, but don't expect it to stop here. My goal is to continue to share cleaner beauty products I love as I find them.

Here's my challenge to you. Over the next month try to replace 3 to 5 beauty products with better options. Are you up to the challenge?

My 5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products Whole Foods Market

evanhealy Wild Carrot Nourishing Eye Balm c/o
All eye cream should come in stick/balm form. I seriously was hooked from the first try. It smells so good and glides right on. Knowing it's all natural just in case I get a little in my eye gives me peace of mind. I never thought I really needed eye cream until I had a kid and started a business.... yeah you know what I'm talking about. And no I don't use concealer. Actually I barely wear makeup!

Origins Make A Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating moisturizer
This moisturizer is meant for oily skin, but I love it because it's super hydrating without being oily. It pulls double duty acting as a day and night cream! Yes, please. Less is more.

BeautyCounter No. 3 Balancing Facial Mask (aka Charcoal Mask)
My sister swears by their products and my mom hooked me up with the charcoal cleansing bar and mask and now I'm hooked. After a few weeks of regular use I've noticed my skin not only feels smoother, but looks more even-toned. I can't wait to see the results after a few months.

My 5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products Beauty Counter

Whole Foods Dry Skin Hand Cream Peony, Mint & Blackberry c/o
I have really dry hands. It's probably from washing them a hundred times a day, living in Tahoe or from the chalk at the gym. Either way my hands need a little extra love. The hand cream not only works amazingly without leaving you feeling greasy, but it smells so good!

cocokind Lip Balm
The only lip balm you'll ever want to buy again! It's made with virgin coconut oil....need I say more. Honestly, I don't even know how I stumbled across this brand but it's amazing. Luckily when I run out I can pick up more at Whole Foods Market. cocokind offers a number of "clean" beauty products, but I'm really looking forward to picking up a MYMATCHA All-Over Moisture Stick.

Looking to make the switch to natural products, but not sure where or how to start? Don't be afraid to test multiple products you never know what you'll like or what will work for your skin type. Even better take advantage of Whole Foods Market's beauty week promo.

My 5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products Whole Foods Market

Starting today, Whole Foods Market is offering a limited edition “clean” beauty bag full of hand-selected items for spring. For beauty aficionados and newbies alike, the bag is a perfect way to try products from up-and-coming brands like evanhealy or tried-and-true favorites from Dr. Hauschka and Mineral Fusion. At nearly a $100 value, this bag is a total steal at $18 -- not to mention the handcrafted bag is gorgeous!

Plus, during the Third Annual Beauty Week at Whole Foods Market, March 22 -28, all cosmetics and facial care are 25% off! (Pro tip: if you’re a fan of Trilogy products, they are an EXTRA 25% off during this time, too!)

Do you know what ingredients are in your beauty products? Are you ready to spring clean your beauty regimen?

Whole Foods Market provided yours truly with a complimentary clean beauty bag. All opinions are my own. Products included in the clean beauty bag are marked c/o.

10 Must Have Pool Floaties

Although it's currently totally raining/snowing in Tahoe I'm talking about all things sunshine -- again! You guys loved 10 Swimsuits to get you pumped for Summer so let's talk about the pool floaty! Unless you've been living under a rock there are some pretty amazing options when it comes to flotation devices.

My sister's wedding was in Maui last year and she included a pool floaty in our welcome bag. Since we were in Hawaii we had pineapple and sandal floaties. We were definitely the talk of the pool deck at the Andaz Maui!

We still have our pineapple floaty and I might just have to bust it out this summer. I can totally picture floating in a pineapple in Lake Tahoe right now!

Spice up summer with a killer floaty! If you could only pick one what would it be?

Go ahead, shop for a floaty (or two):

In the Open: Thoughts on 17.4

Happy Monday!

It's another CrossFit open recap. YAY! Sadly I don't have any pictures from Friday. Which is probably a good thing because the WOD left me in tears. Tears because I was in pain and tears because I've put so much work in over the last few months and let's just say my performance was sub par and painful to watch -- so I heard.

Tank | Sports Bra | Leggings | Lifters | Water Bottle

13 Minute AMRAP
55 Deadlifts at 155 pounds
55 Wallballs (14lbs) to the 9ft mark
55 Cal Row
55 Handstand Push-ups

Initial Thoughts
Since Brooke Wells was set to be at the announcement I knew there would be deadlifts. I didn't particularly like this workout last year and knew it was going to be an ugly fight for me. Here's the thing, no one in there right mind should EVER deadlift 155 pounds 55 times.

It was ugly. I RX'd the workout and went into it thinking I just have to get through the deadlifts. I was busting out 2s and 3s and switched to singles around 35. Then I hit rep 45 and it all went down hill from there. The right side of my lower back went into full blown spasm. I pushed through the last 10. Before I started the wall balls I took a minute to try and pull my shit together. I haven't trained this hard for nothing. But oh the sheer pain when I picked up the ball... I still managed to pull off 47 wall balls. Yes, against better judgement there will be a redo today. I'm calling it my redemption WOD.

I'm just happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Like last week 17.4 showed me another weakness. 2017 might be all about strength training.

What did you think about 17.4? Have any tips for me?

Friday Favorites: CrossFit, GoMacro + Spring Cleaning

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope you're wearing green!

People I have some exciting stuff happening to the blog! Yup, to celebrate 10 years of blogging (crazy, right?!), next month, there will be some significant changes around here along with some fun giveaways! Blogging has changed considerably over the last 10 years and it's time to make some changes too. I hope you're ok with it. Anyway, more details to follow.

Fittest on Earth: A Decade of Fitness
You might be tired of me talking about CrossFit, but people it's kind of apart of my life. It's incredible  what it's done for my mind and body over the last year. Well if you're interested in a little behind the scenes of what it takes to be the Fittest on Earth then you'll want to check CrossFit's new documentary FITTEST ON EARTH: A DECADE OF FITNESS. This action-packed sports film is out TODAY On Demand! I was lucky enough to view it last weekend! So much inspiration! Bring on 17.4!

Go to post Workout Snack | GoMarco
Yes, you've heard it here before -- GoMacro is one of my go-to bars! They recently released some killer news:

GoMacro recently completed Certified R.A.W.™ and Certified C.L.E.A.N.™ labels for all of our products! This is a new level of transparency for ingredient integrity that takes a wide array of qualitative characteristics into consideration and delivers a new, all-encompassing certification that is the new gold standard for the natural foods industry.

Now you have no excuse not to enjoy a GoMacro bar (or two). The team recently shared a few recipes and man I can't wait to try them all. I'm talking mango smoothie bowls, campfire banana boats and blueberry vanilla pancakes - which all include  either a GoMacro or Thrive bar as an ingredient. However, the GoMacro Bowl is first on my list.

Spring Cleaning
The older I get the more I'm turning into a minimalist. Less is more. With that said I've been really good about buying less (aka things I don't really need), but I haven't been great about getting rid of things! So yesterday while Emerson napped I posted a few items on POSHMARK! It's amazing how many items still have tags!

I've never used it before so we'll see how it goes. You can check out my closet HERE. If you're signing up for the first time use CODE: PTGUE to receive a $5 credit towards your first purchase. In the past I've used eBay to sell gear and was very successful. Speaking of eBay, I'll be posting some items there within the week. Follow my profile HERE. Have you used Posh Mark to sell anything? Tell me all your tips and secrets!

All Things Green
It wouldn't be St. Patricks Day with some green, mom and mini style!

Ten Swimsuits to get you pumped for Summer

Yeah, that's right I'm talking about swimsuit season in the middle of March. Who am I, right?! Just a mama who felt the sun on her face this weekend and can't wait to hit the beach...sooner rather than later. Most dread bikini season, but I embrace it. Yeah I've been hitting the gym hard, per usual, but my body is far from perfect. Hello avocado toast and ice cream! People -- life is all about finding balance. We can talk more about balance later... let's talk about ten swimsuits I'm currently swooning over!

I don't know about you, but lounging poolside sounds good right about now. It might be time to move back to the beach. Until then I'll just keep shopping for swimsuits and dreaming of vacation.

When it comes to swimsuits there are a few things I look for a supportive top and mid coverage bottoms. Yup, I'm a two piece kind of gal -- even post baby. While I prefer a two piece I know it's not the case for everyone else so I've included a few one pieces! Happy shopping!

Have a favorite suit? Where's it from?

Sunshine and CrossFit Open 17.3

Spring has sprung in Lake Tahoe and I'm over the moon. Fingers crossed it's here to stay. It was a long few months full of snow. Like I mentioned on Friday it has me dreaming of vacation. We're actually in the process of planning our next getaway which includes getting our best gal a passport. EEK. Can't you just picture her building sand castles on a beach in Mexico. I can. Until then I'll be in the gym working on my summer body ;)

We're officially halfway through the CrossFit Open! While I'm not qualifying for the masters regionals (this year -- yay I have crazy goals) I tried to approach the open as my super bowl. Yup, I can't wait to see where I land amongst my peers. In my region I took 70th place (out off 1,000) for 17.2 in the Masters 35-39 division! Pretty pumped about that.

This week will probably be a little different as squat snatches are not easy for me... I pause.

After watching the 17.3 announcement I thought well I'll be happy if I can get through 95 lbs. The weight load jumps for RX were a bit ridiculous. But that's what the open is all about. It's about pushing your limits and doing things you didn't think you could do. I also knew this was going to be rough because I have a pause in my squat snatch -- hello no rep.

I did the workout at 1 pm on Friday afternoon with my training partner. We're a good match. Oh and I went with RX. If I really want to see where I stand I have to RX the WODs. Let's just say it didn't go as planned. I received no reps left and right on my squat snatches which just pissed me off. Then I started missing! Needless to say I made it to 95 lbs, but couldn't get a single one. Not my best day. Clearly I had to redo it.

Sunday I woke up, had breakfast, got into the right headspace and headed to the gym. I took my time warming up and really focused on the task at hand. My performance overall was better. My spilt was a minute faster, I didn't receive a no rep on single lift until I missed at 95 lbs. Unfortunately I only made one at 95 lbs. Still not my best, but better than Friday.

If it was a chest to bar workout I would have killed it, but it wasn't. 17.3 showed me how far I've come, but also how much work I have to do. Now onto 17.4 give me some ring muscle ups please :)

Are you participating in the CrossFit open? What did you think of 17.3?

Friday Favorites: Sunshine, Safer Skin Care + Fit Life

I don't know about you, but March is flying by! Work seems to be picking up and we're just all around busier. I've also been day dreaming about vacation so maybe in between meetings, playdates and training sessions I'll pull the trigger and book a trip to somewhere tropical. I'm torn between Cabo and Hawaii.... Cabo is a cheaper and shorter flight, but Hawaii is a bit more toddler friendly. Any suggestions?

Until then....

YES, it's finally sunny in Tahoe! We're trying to enjoy the sunshine before the another storm hits next week.

Strong Like Mom
When I saw the "Strong Like Mom" shirt at Target I knew Emerson had to have it. Little did I know weeks later the internet would be going crazy over the awesome message.

Beauty Counter
I'm all about eating clean and working out so why wouldn't I purchase better beauty products too.

Did you know Europe has banned 1300 chemicals so far, but the US has only partially banned 11 to date!?! Unfortunately, it’s up to us to make sure the items we use on ourselves, and our families, don’t harm or make us sick. Fortunately, BEAUTYCOUNTER is doing their part to provide safer options. They’ve already implemented a ban on 1500 chemicals that will never be used in the creation of their products.

My sister introduced me to Beauty Counter and I've been replacing products as I run out. So far I love the face wash and tinted moisturizer. I can't wait to try the charcoal mask, mascara and sunscreen. Emerson even uses the kids bath line!

Fit Life
17.3 was announced last night and well it's going to be a fight for me. 135# squat snatch probably won't happen, but miracles happen during the open. Anyway, it will be a one and done. I'll be back Monday with additional thoughts.

Spring Workout Gear to Love + Thoughts on 17.2

Happy Monday Friends!

You heard it here first... it won't stop snowing in Lake Tahoe. Yup, we received a few more feet over the weekend. It's going to be a killer summer! Speaking of summer... summer bodies are made in the winter. And I've been working pretty hard.

It's never to late to start hitting the gym, yoga, running, etc. just get moving. All it takes is a little determination, inspiration and cute workout clothes! I'm a firm believer that you'll burn a few extra calories if you're rocking cute gear. Guess what? I'm sharing all my favorite pieces!

As I get older I'm all about investing in quality gear such as shoes, sports bras and even leggings. Every month I add as least a new tank, sports bra, etc. I have the split tank in grey and am in love with the teal color it's perfect for spring.

SKINS USA hooked me up with some gear for spring and so far I'm in love. Seriously though. I rocked  the Remote T Bar Tank [c/o] to the gym on Saturday and received so many compliments. Stay tune for a full review.

Thoughts on 17.2

I'm not going to lie. When I heard the announce I thought WTF. Then I gave it some thought and well this workout is kind of my jam, minus the dumbbell cleans.

So it went a little something like this. I paced it a tad too slow, but got 12 bar muscle ups before the 12 minute timer. While I'm happy with my performance I'll be redoing the workout today. Ideally I would like to get to the second round of bar muscle ups, but we'll see how things go. I'll post an update later today.

UPDATE: Redid it. Pushed it hard which gave me more time on the bar mu's, but also gassed me. Ended up with 13 bar mu's but a faster tie breaker time. Need to work on breathing.

Ok, are you signed up for the CrossFit open? Did you do 17.2? Love or hate it?

Friday Favorites + Workout Deals of the Week

I don't know about you, but sometimes the week just gets the best of me. Honestly I don't even know where the week went!

Anyway let's just get down to the nitty gritty... what I'm currently loving.

Chi Turbo Round Brush
I've been trying to update my beauty supplies and products starting with a new round brush. You don't even want to know how old my last one was. Anyway, not only did I purchase a new round brush I splurged on a better quality brush. I love shopping at Ulta because of their amazing return policy. Yup, you can test something out and if you don't like it you can return it within 90 days.

Basically yoga for CrossFitters! Enough said. But seriously for $12 a month it's totally worth it. Everyday there's a new routine ranging from 10-45 mins. Time to get #swoleandflexy

prAna Spring Line
Just in case you missed Monday's post I shared a few pieces I'm loving from prAna. I'm practically living in these leggings!
